Manufacturing Test Technologies Manager/Senior Test Engineer

Primary Job Responsibilities

Production Test:

  • Build test racks and fixtures that support initial pilot builds for engineering and production ramps at the contract manufacturers. Should be capable of "hands on" test equipment development for wireless equipment at the functional and systems test level.
  • Develop, document and implement processes for testing and troubleshooting WiMax products.
  • Act as technical liaison with contract manufacturers for all test issues.
  • Coordinate Engineering Changes (ECO) for Firmware, Software, and Hardware that affect functional and systems level test equipment (ATE). Together with manufacturing engineering and the contract manfacturers, develop data collection strategies for the monitoring of production processes and yields.
  • Assure product functionality by complete and accurate product testing in accordance with documented procedures/specifications.
  • Lead manufacturablity and testability analysis during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Act as project manager during the pilot and manufacturing phases.
  • Work closely with Engineering group to develop new product release schedules that support pilot and production testing of products.

General:

  • Manage subordinate personnel issues, including hiring, firing, training, and performance appraisals; foster a team environment.
  • Develop and implement the department budget, capital equipment acquisition plans and labor standards for the test functions.

Job Requirements

  • BSEE; MSEE desirable.
  • Direct knowledge and experience with RF electronics and test equipment is essential; must be familiar with standard RF test parameters. Experience in developing WiFi or WiMax equipment a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in manufacturing/test engineering, with minimum 2 years direct experience managing a team.
  • Experience with test software development would be a plus.
  • Proven supervisory skills and experience with ability to lead, motivate and direct technical personnel at both exempt and direct labor levels; ability to lead project and improvement teams.
  • Experience with new product introduction and development of manufacturing and test processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively interface with design engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to project manage test development in a matixed environment of resources.
