Sales Manager

Location: Africa
Dept/Division: Sales

The position will manage the sales function throughout the Africa geographic territory. The focus will be on managing/supporting major US OEM partners in the region, two-tier distribution and direct VAR environments and also selling to selected target major accounts. The person will develop and implement sales and partners programs and strategies and will perform customer related responsibilities with the utmost care and priority, ensuring the highest degree of service, quality, ethics, and good relations. The individual will deliver agreed upon targets of revenue growth.

The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience selling telecom or networking hardware and software products, or related technologies.

It requires excellent oral and written communications skills, presentation skills, and negotiation skills. The successful candidate will have no restrictions for overseas travel, and will be flexible to take longer term (weeks) or sudden overseas travel with a minimum notice period. The candidate must have strong knowledge of the various ways of succeeding within Africa, together with excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Job Description

  • Seek out, identify, develop and close business opportunities with prospects and potential customers in Africa.
  • Collect and analyze relevant market information through contacts with customers and an active presence at international congresses or events.
  • Result-oriented account management with existing customers.
  • Guaranteed focus on customer-satisfaction and contract prolongation.
  • Achieve qualitative and quantitative sales objectives in the allocated region.
  • Complete forecast and related reports as requested
  • Provide market and competitive information to HQ
  • Participate in sales meetings as needed
  • Utilize appropriate pipeline and forecast tools like salesforce.com etc.

Profile

  • A proven interest in Telecommunication or IT through demonstrated sales performance.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working under own initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating and customer-facing skills
  • Fluent in English and other regional languages.
  • Good contacts within the region
