Senior Buyer responsible for tactical daily execution as well as strategic Supply Chain Management. Activities will include obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing, preparing and issuing purchase orders for MRO, NPI and some production material. Will manage suppliers to meet quality, cost and on-time delivery. Will assist in managing relationship with contract manufacturer (CM). Will monitor material status at CM to prevent excess and obsolete inventory, identify and resolve shortages, identify cost reduction opportunities and manage PPV. Will maintain knowledge of and react to component market conditions. Will participate in NPI process to insure Supply Chain Management issues (including cost, availability and supplier quality) are addressed during product development process and assure a smooth transition into production.
Required Skills/Experience
  • Ideal candidate will have small company as well as large company experience, experience implementing and using Oracle or other ERP/MRP system(s), a strong understanding of Supply Chain Management principles and processes.
  • Must have experience working for an OEM using contract manufacturer(s) for turnkey electronics manufacturing services.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized to perform daily buying activities.
  • Must have experience negotiating pricing and contracts.
  • Requires a BS or equivalent, 5+ years of related experience (Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials) with at least 2 years of purchasing experience.
  • Prefer NAPM CPM or APICS CPIM.
