Bid/Proposal Manager
 
Role
The Bid Manager takes leadership responsibility for all formal customer proposals from receipt of the request for bid through final submission. The bid manager works as the "Quote CEO", monitors and controls the destiny of the bid/quote to commit date.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage global bid opportunities
  • Strategize with account team, establish bid task assignments, setup bid project plan to complete bid and ensure continuous communication with cross functional team
  • Drive Bid execution and track bid process to ensure timely completion including written responses and edits, create exhibits and charts.
  • Maintain a bid database
  • Conduct progress reviews and ensure proper documentation
  • Conduct final review with cross functional team
  • Manage relationships with internal and external customers to maintain open communication and overall bid process support
  • Act as a single point of contact for conflict escalation on all technical and commercial issues to expedite resolution
  • Support and provide final internal win/loss analysis documentation
  • Provide regular bid support material for future projects
  • Recommend and assist with implementation of improvements to the bid process
  • Analyze overall bid performance and produce weekly management reports
Requirements
  • 8 years of global bid management experience
  • Experience with large telecom operator bids. Preferably in the wireless space such as WiMAX, 3G, GSM, CDMA.
  • Strong communications skills, particularly related to articulating specific corporate strategy as well as technical and commercial requirements for customer deals
  • Experience in proposal preparation and process, including discussions, pricing/market price analysis, presentations, in prime/sub teaming
  • Strong project management and people management skills
  • Strong spreadsheet skills
  • experience managing multiple simultaneous bids
  • 3+ years in wireless communications
 
Requirements
  • Strong technical background in wireless technology (WiMAX, WiFi, or other)
  • 5 years in telecommunications and/or data communications industry
  • General Technology understanding : IP/Data Networking, BWA/GSM/CDMA infrastructure
  • Background in product marketing, or engineering
  • International experience strongly preferred
  • BSEE/BSCS other technical academic background
  • Based in Aperto HQ in Milpitas
  • >40% travel anticipated
