Wireless System Engineer / Mobility
Location: Milpitas, CA or Bangalore India

| Responsibilities |
- Provide technical leadership on WiMAX system design, architecture and specifications development with focus on mobility management and end-to-end network architecture
- Work with cross functional teams and product line management to define and document design and development requirements for current and next generation WiMAX systems
- Develop system requirements and specifications for layer 2 and layer 3 mobility architecture, paging support and multimedia broadcast and multicast services
- Research, analyze and validate through simulation new technologies and algorithms that optimize access service network performance and scalability
- Monitor and participate in standards bodies (IEEE 802.16/WiMAX) and support certification and interoperability programs

| Requirements |
- Proven experience at the architecture level with mobility management algorithms and protocols (experience with mobile WiMAX or 3G systems highly desirable)
- Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols including MobileIP highly desirable
- Familiarity with security and authentication protocols (AAA) in mobile networks would be a big plus
- Experience with QoS and scheduling algorithms
- Knowledge of Opnet simulation package would be a plus
- Superior written and verbal communication skills; must be capable of documenting and communicating system design and specifications
- Self-motivated, team player with the ability to work in fast-paced, start-up environment
- MSEE required (PhD preferred)
