Internship / WiMAX System Performance Evaluation

Job Description
Aperto Networks is looking for an intern to work on projects in the area of mobile WiMAX systems and network architectures based on the IEEE 802.16e standard. As part of the project you will be working with the system-engineering group to develop link-level and system-level simulation models and to study the performance and capacity of multi-base station WiMAX architectures under various channel models. You may also be involved in conducting lab tests to evaluate system performance and validate protocol conformance to the specifications. The outcome of this project will include technical reports and presentations of the simulation and experimental results with focus on the impact of these results on the overall system design and architecture.
 
Requirements
  • We are looking for graduate students enrolled in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent programs
  • Excellent coding skills in C
  • Comfortable with OPNET simulation program
  • Familiarity with wireless networking (such as MAC layer protocols, mobility management etc.)
  • Strong practical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
