Michael K. Pratt – President and CEO of Aperto Networks

Mike PrattMike Pratt is President and CEO of Aperto Networks, developer of the world’s most advanced WiMAX base stations and subscriber units. He is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the company.

A telecommunications executive with over 20 years of general management, engineering, marketing and manufacturing experience, Mike was recently the President of ADC’s Active Infrastructure business unit. Prior, Mike was the Executive Vice President – Worldwide Access/Broadband Systems at Marconi, and has held executive and managerial positions at RELTEC, DSC and Bell Labs.

Mike’s experience and accomplishments include leading organizations through periods of rapid growth and global expansion, organizational and operational transformation, innovative new product development, dramatic product cost reduction and the execution of strategic and tactical partnerships. During his career, Mike has led businesses as large as 2,500 employees, with P&L responsibilities and revenues ranging up to $1B, participating in wireline, FTTx and wireless markets globally.

Pratt holds a master’s of engineering in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a bachelor’s of engineering in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska.

Manish Gupta – Vice President, Marketing and Alliances

Manish GuptaManish Gupta is a member of the board of directors at Aperto and also heads up Marketing & Alliances for the company. He is a board member of the WiMAX Forum. As a 19-year veteran of the communications industry, his experience includes cellular, DSL, Satellite, Interactive Television and VoIP industries. He has held management positions at large companies such as Apple and National Semiconductor and has also worked with venture backed companies such as Jetstream, Cyberstar and Megisto. He received his B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

 

 

Bill Waters – Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Bill WatersBill Waters is senior vice president of worldwide sales for Aperto Networks. He is responsible for direct and indirect channel programs in all target markets worldwide. Prior to joining Aperto, Mr. Waters was vice president of global sales at BayPackets, forging successful sales strategies, selling carrier oriented solutions and building customer momentum. He also served as general manager and senior vice president of sales for Terayon’s telecom carrier solutions group. Mr. Waters also held executive positions at Mainsail Networks, Vina Technologies, Telco Systems, Racal Datacom and DCA/Cohesive. He is a graduate of the Stanford/ AEA Executive MBA Program, and the U.S. Air Force Technical School/ College of the Air Force.

Behrooz Parsay – Vice President, Engineering

Behrooz ParsayBehrooz Parsay is Vice President of Engineering for Aperto Networks, developer of the world’s most advanced WiMAX base stations and subscriber units. Parsay has a broad base of experience in developing and delivering carrier grade solutions in the wireline and wireless arenas. He has built engineering organizations from zero to a couple of hundred and has managed teams in multiple locations while delivering complex solutions on time and within budget. Parsay began his career as an RF engineer and has held engineering management positions at L3 Communications, Ericsson, DIVA, Kestrel, and Lantern Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Chico State University, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University.

Glenn Tamaru – Vice President, Operations

Glenn TomaruGlenn Tamaru is vice president of operations for Aperto Networks and is responsible for guiding, directing and coordinating the external manufacturing and global operations of Aperto Networks. Glenn, who has 25 years of operations experience with several leading technology companies, including Ascend/Lucent, Bay Networks/Nortel and Solectron, was most recently vice president of operations at GoDigital Networks in Fremont, Calif. He received his BS in Finance and his MBA from California State University, Hayward.
