Mike Pratt Appointed CEO of Aperto Networks

Aperto Prepares for Accelerated Growth Driven by WiMAX Certified Solutions  

Milpitas, Calif., (May 22, 2006) – Aperto Networks, developer of the world’s most advanced WiMAX base stations and subscriber units, today announced that Michael K. Pratt has been appointed president and CEO of Aperto Networks. He replaces Reza Ahy who will continue his role as founder and chairman of the board of Aperto Networks.

A telecommunications executive with over 20 years of general management, engineering, marketing and manufacturing experience, Mike was recently the president of ADC’s Active Infrastructure business unit. Prior, Mike was the executive vice president – Worldwide Access/Broadband Systems at Marconi, and has held executive and managerial positions at RELTEC, DSC and Bell Labs.  

Mike’s experience and accomplishments include leading organizations through periods of rapid growth and global expansion, organizational and operational transformation, innovative new product development, dramatic product cost reduction and the execution of strategic and tactical partnerships.  

During his career, Mike has led businesses as large 2500 employees, with revenues ranging to $1B, participating in wireline, FTTx and wireless markets globally.  

Pratt holds a master’s of engineering in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a bachelor’s of engineering in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska.
